 Vanilla Ice Cream


Makes 1 quart

Ingredients:

  • 6 pastured egg yolks

  • ½cup maple sugar

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla powder or vanilla extract

  • 3 cups cream





Instructions:

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the egg yolks with maple sugar and vanilla powder for about 5 minutes.

  2. Gradually beat in the cream.

  3. Pour the mixture into a home ice cream maker and process according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

  4. Store, covered, in the freezer in a shallow glass container.

  5. Remove from the freezer and let thaw for about 5 minutes before serving.
